Where I Actually Find Wedding Inspiration

I’ve stayed at Bungalows Key Largo a few times now, and every time I go, I come back with a new wave of ideas. It’s adults-only, all-inclusive, and just about an hour south of Miami—but it feels a world away. The clean lines, soft blues, and overall atmosphere have directly influenced a few destination weddings we’ve planned, especially one we did in Turks and Caicos that leaned into that same elevated coastal look—simple, but thoughtful.

And honestly, that’s how most of my inspiration works. It rarely comes from a mood board or a wedding blog. It usually starts with a trip, a place, or a small detail that catches my eye when I’m not even looking for it.

Sometimes it’s a fabric at a boutique, a menu design from a nice dinner, or a color combination at a hotel that just works. Antique markets, interior shops, architecture during travel—even a good bookstore or a vineyard in the fall. I take mental (and literal) notes everywhere.

Then I bring those details back into the planning process—not to force a trend, but to create something that actually fits the couple and still feels polished and current. I want my clients to love their wedding now and still love it years from now, without cringing at something that felt trendy in the moment.

It’s less about making a statement and more about creating a feeling people remember.
